Games

To many life is filled with games.
Games of all kinds, some fun, some not.
Luck and chance play a part.
Skill and thought may as well.

Games can be a release for many.
As long as its not games of the heart.
Games of the heart cause pain and sorrow.
These games are not good to play.

People are not toys, not pawns.
You can't reshuffle people like you can cards.
When something goes wrong, someone looses.
They don't just loose a game, its part of them.

Unlike cards, you can't go to the store to buy a full deck.
With people each time they loose a piece of themselves,
Its not easily replaced or repaired.
You can try to fix the broken part, but a scar will remain.

Life is full of risks, challenges and fun.
Leave the games of the heart aside.
Learn to care about people.
Don't just use them as pawns in a game.

Eventually you might find yourself alone.
The last card in the deck, lost.
At first you'll think that everyone else is gone.
But you'll turn to see that they are all together somewhere else.

Its not them who have disappeared.
Its ye who've been lost to the world.
By hurting others with games of the heart.
You slowly push yourself away from everyone.

Eventually you end up hurting as a result of your games.
Finding support and comfort to heal what ails will not be easy.
People become fearful, untrusting after being toyed with.
Once that trust is gone, its hard to replace.

Leave the games of the heart alone.
Find another toy to occupy your time.
There are plenty of other challenges.
Other prizes to be won. People are not trophies.
